I really enjoy Rachel’s Royals series and when I saw this as an option to pick for Book of the Month, I jumped on it!

From the very beginning of the story, I was completely invested. Jane sometimes rubbed me the wrong way but I started to really root for her throughout the book. She’s so jaded and things come to light, making you understand her better.

I loved Bae’s and Jane’s points of view in this book. I loved how Bae’s is a mix of the present and past to help you fill in the gaps. I really wish that we would have gotten a lot more of Eddie’s. Although, I do understand why the author chose her timing. It was actually kinda brilliant.

It was so hard for me to really attach myself to any of these characters but in a way, I did? It’s so confusing. This book has twists and it’s thrilling. I had so much trouble putting it down and read it in two days. It’s a big deal for me with a toddler! The pacing is actually really great. There are some things that are predictable but some twists that really shocked me!

Even though, this is an adaptation, there was new life to the story with new plot twists. It’s a quick read and I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would.
