The Sun Down Motel
by Simone St. James
We see this story through two pairs of eyes: Vivian, in 1982, on her way to New York who stumbles upon Fell and The Sun Down Motel, but later vanishes. Carly, in 2017, come to look into her Aunt's disappearance after her mother dies-never knowing what happened to her sister.
I love the creepy vibe the ghosts bring into the story but that it's not as big a focus as it could be. I like that it gives the impression of the scare but not really there to do harm to the living.
I liked Viv and the way she starts looking into the deaths surrounding the motel. Carly is a strong girl, you'd have to be a bit to want to work at this motel during the night shift. I like where she decides her life should take her after all she goes through.
I had sort of guessed to the ending a bit but not until close to the actual reveal. I enjoyed reading the story to get to the conclusion.
