All I have to say is wow!! this book is so unique and beautiful and full of so many pleasant surprises. Going into the book it took a while for me to like it because it's so different, and I didn't know what was going on. but I'm so glad I stuck it through, because it kept getting more and more wonderful once I knew what was happening.

This really breaks a lot of boundaries for what traditional fantasy books should be, and I'm so glad for it!!! good job Jemisin!!!

The use of second person was confusing and hard to follow because it's not something I was used to, but I'm so glad part of it was written like this, because it really made some of the character surprises so much more lovely. Definitely want to read again!!
