Fahrenheit 451
by Ray Bradbury
It's been a while since I've read this book, but as an audio book it didn't feel as powerful as the written text. I definitely enjoyed listening to the book and the narrator was fine, but for some reason the "oomph" of this novel seemed lessened. Probably it's because the entire point of this book is that society is leaving books behind, censoring books, banning books, and in the end even making books illegal. It seems like a bit of a sellout to listen to a book with that message even though it's message is still coming across. Is that silly?
