I think my expectations might have been a little too high for this book. The actual writing was beautiful and poetic. However, I found that I wanted more character development maybe? It spanned decades which meant that some characters felt one dimensional because there was no time to explore them. I would have also liked much more time and exploration of Victoria and Wil as I didn’t really feel the emotion or the love between them. It didn’t make my heart burst in the way it should have. 
I totally understand why this book has so many 5 star reviews but, for me, it was just missing something.
