Great start to a new series.
Gary is very much a snarling, prickly person until his PA Michael finally calls him out on his terrible behaviour. Although Gary can’t remember the last time someone stood up to him he does appreciate the strength in Michael to do so.
Their relationship progresses at an even pace with the chemistry bubbling between them leading to very steamy times when they decide to act on their mutual feelings.
It’s not all sunshine and roses especially with the trauma Gary carried from his military experiences but the strength and patience of Michael is the soothing balm that Gary needs.
When a case turns out to not be what it seems death and destruction finds CrossBow and its employees. With plenty of action and drama to go with it! More pressures are placed on the relationship but not enough to derail the hard earned and well deserved HEA for these two wonderful men.
I enjoyed the strong character development of Gary, flaws and all and the way Michael accepts him without any ifs or buts. Their romance is perfectly balanced with all the action which makes for a very interesting and engaging storyline. I’m interested to see whose story will be told next.
