Overall, this is a great series. Quite an intriguing (non)ending that makes me want to check out the spin-off. My only hang up is with the Gnishians. I don't quite understand their stakes in the game. Their presence seemed like a Deus ex Machina (no pun intended) to get to the end of the universe. I'm looking forward to diving into Ascender and seeing what's happened in the 10 years following the harvest.
