I received this ARC through the Goodreads giveaways.
Even though I had never read book 1 from this series, I was able to read this book (#2) as a stand alone. I never felt I was missing information that I would know if I had read #1.

I didn't like how much reference there was to characters' looks. I don't understand why it matters that this person is gorgeous. Or that person is ugly because they are over weight and have uncontrollable hair. It's a bit over done and not necessary.
Some parts of the story just didn't seem to fit in. I very much liked the main characters Sierra and Connie as well as Sully, Cal and Maggie. The story pulled me in and I enjoyed reading all about them.

There was a little sub-plot about two minor characters that didn't fit in with the rest of the main story. I suspect that the next book in this series will be about them. There were parts of this sub-plot that repeated and should be taken out or put into a couple sentences as a reminder instead of most of a page. We get from the introduction of the "romance" that Lola was not looking for romance and that she was self-conscious about the way she looked. I skipped over a few paragraphs here and there.
Plus what was up with the Neely character? Another intro to a future book?

I for sure will look into reading other books by this author. This was the first one.
