I loved the idea of the book which is why I had my partner and I both start reading it but it didn’t end up being quite what I expected. There were some good nuggets of wisdom in here for us to reflect on but it did feel belittling and shaming at times. If you’re trying to read this with a partner who might be struggling with or not open to the concept of fair play, this may push them further away from the conversation.

The latter half of the book with details about the card game could be a helpful companion guide for the activity. This could be an ok option to read if you want some basic tools to approach this conversation with your partner or if they’re open to the discussion.
