You know what? I'm gonna say it. I'm gonna freaking say it.

I really like this book. Not the movie. The book. Take the movie, throw it away. Ignore the movie. The movie is B A D. But the book?

I know what you're thinking. Babraham Lincoln, a vampire slaying president??

Back when I was a Twilight hating prepubescent girl (yeah, I was one of those "unique cool girls") I avoided all and any books about vampires and werewolves. I saw this book EXSISTED. This book had the NERVE TI EXSIST. So, laughing, for the giggles, I got this from a half priced store and read it. I read it in one sitting. When I finished, I sat back a little stunned. Was this book ACTUALLY this good? Was I just stupid? Why was this book... ya know... a thing?

I reread it. I grew to really really like vampires (this lead to my I Am Legend reading and rereading) and supernatural characters. This book shows that supernatural beings, like vampires or werewolves, can be written as humans and monsters, good and evil, and they have many dimensional sides. I reread it every year. Call me a sucker (ha! puns!) for urban fantasy (historical urban fantasy?), but this book will remain one of my favorite spooky reads. (Side Note: it's not THAT spooky, but in a whimp.)
