People We Meet on Vacation
by Emily Henry
Poppy's feeling burnt out in her job as a travel writer for an elite lifestyle company. When she started, she had her own blog about traveling on a shoestring budget and she realizes she hasn't been happy since she used to go on trips each summer with her best friend Alex (who she was also in love with). Something happened on their trip two years ago and they haven't really spoken since, but she decides to take time off and do one of her old school trips and invites him. Their time in Palm Springs goes nothing like she plans but they start to figure out their problems in time for Alex's brother's wedding at the end of their time together. This was a fun book. I know people have definite opinions on whether this book or Henry's first is better but I can't decide... they seem different enough that I almost can't compare them (one is an enemies to lovers trope and this is best friends to lovers).
