Celaena Sardothien is serving out a sentence in the salt mines of Endovier when she is offered release if she will act as the Prince’s champion in a competition to find a new Royal assassin. Her opponents are the biggest thieves, warriors and assassins from across the empire. As she fights to win the competition she also finds herself in a desperate struggle to stay alive outside of the competition when contenstants start turning up dead, having been mutilated, mauled and eaten by an unknown beast. This was predictable and felt like the YA it was but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Action, adventure, murder, magic and romance - what more could I want? ⁣
