This was really cute! Within the first few pages this graphic novel catched me. Especially in the beginning it was really well told and gave the setting and emotional depth enough tome to develop. Sadly I thought that during the second half of the story this got a little lost and everything moved a little too quickly.
Still, I really loved Marjorie and Wendell. Marjorie and her struggle to keep up the family business felt - while I can't personally relate - very authentic. How she feels like this is her responsibility, how she won't open up to others trying to help and acts way too grown up for her age since her dad won't actually be a reliable parent (while I understand that he's having a hard time it made me a little mad sometimeslike: he tells his daughter(!) to talk about a business deal to some creep and then tell him what said creep said. Like hello?? This should really be your job, Sir. ). I fear way too many children can relate to that.
Wendell was very sweet as well.
The art was very beautiful, some panels so much so that I would love to have them as an art print, the colors are just <333333
