Ravenfall is a charming, atmospheric fantasy book which I loved from beginning to end. It's a spooky, Halloween read but it's not creepy or scary, it's more of a warm cosy autumnal story. There are strong themes of loneliness, friendship, family and finding your place. 

I liked both of the main characters, but honestly the best characters in it area Max, a black "cat", and the Ravenfall house itself which is magical and has personality. 

The sequel comes out soon and I'm looking forward to reading it.
