I found this so so enjoyable. It was an easy read, the story flowed beautifully and the writing, even though it wasn't particularly flowery, it was very nice.

I couldn't help but notice the similarities with Shadow and Bone though;
Leora = Alina, with her luminous powers
Everin = Mal, as he was a tracker
Darius = clearly the Darkling as he was a corrupt mage that was once an innocent boy
Morgana = Darkling's mother, who trained Leora/Alina
The voids and the creatures = the shadow fold and the volcra that were only destroyed by Leora's light

Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but it really did remind me of all the previous things I mentioned and I'm curious to see if someone else made the connection as well
