ros_lanta 's review for:
The Rithmatist
by Brandon Sanderson
When I started reading this, I did not expect to be giving it five stars. I usually do love Sanderson's writing, but I've barely heard anyone talk about this novel and the concept didn't sound as interesting as most of his books.
I adored it. Original, gripping, atmospheric, occasionally tense, characters I cared about.
I would say that it's aimed towards the younger end of YA, maybe even upper middle grade, but it's one of those books I would recommend to people of any age.
The ending left me desperate for book two (which I imagine might be a while as Sanderson has about fifty million books in the pipeline). I just loved this.
