This book had no heart.
Isaac was a jerk throughout the book, and never changed. I also hate a character convinced he killed someone, only for the reader to find out he didn't. Such a lame attempt at emotion.
Bellatine was a boring fool who made bad decision after worse decision, and never changed.
The trio who helped them investigate the longshadow man were so indistinguishable and dull I've already forgotten their names and I literally just closed the book.
A thing happened, another thing happened, another thing happened, nothing connected, and the book was over. The whole thing feels like someone was assigned a folklore story for an english composition final and tried to rush through it in one night and they didn't care if it was any good.
