Reread Oct 2023: 4.5 stars. Still an excellent book, but I wanted a bit more emotion from Eragon. It’s a writing style that isn’t my favorite where it feels like you’re witnessing the main characters feelings from afar rather than being in them. I love the magic, the dragons, everything. 

First read Jan 2009, 5 stars: I loved this book. I hadn't wanted to read it for a long time because I was told it was kinda of like Lord of the Rings:Dragon Version. While I guess that could be one way to describe it, I also appreciated it for its own thing. It was original, and definitely appealed to a much younger audience, while still retaining its complexity. I would definitely recommend this for anyone looking for an adventure! Or at least a book to read when you're stuck snowed/iced in, which is what I did.
