Local Woman Missing by Mary Kubica
3.0

Just finished Local Woman Missing by Mary Kubica, and whew—this one had me intrigued from the start! I really enjoyed the dual timelines and multiple POVs—it gave the story a layered, emotional feel that pulled me in. It’s labeled as fast-paced, but honestly, it read more like a slow to moderate burn for me… and I didn’t mind that! The tension built steadily, and the mystery kept me flipping pages.

This was a solid 4-star read until the end. The twist? Pretty clever, but it felt like it came crashing in during the last twenty pages, and I needed a little more time to sit with it. Some of it felt a bit implausible, but not enough to totally ruin the ride.

Overall, I’d call this one a decent thriller with a good plot and a few jaw-dropping moments, even if it didn’t fully stick the landing.
