emmalouisepip 's review for:
The Assassin's Blade
by Sarah J. Maas
I usually try to write reviews without spoilers but I honestly don't know how I can discuss my feelings without giving a spoiler. I'm sorry.
I find it hard to review novella's or short story collections. But even though this is technically five novella's they all combine together to make one story that flows. Which I loved it was easy to follow the events.
Since this is a technically a re-read, just using audiobook version this time, I knew heartache was coming. It's really the only thing I remembered going into this. Although I soon remembered others things as I was listening.
The death still hurt. Knowing it was coming doesn't make it any easier. The character is just written in a way that you can't help but love them. They deserved more. I think I will never re-read this and not be hurt by the death.
This collection makes me worry about accepting someone replacing this character. How am I supposed to accept someone else? How will they be better? Why put me through this?
This review is basically just me being sad about one part of the book. I don't really have much else to say. Other than it was interesting to see Celaena before Throne of Glass. I did originally read this before Throne of Glass a couple of years ago. But I've forgotten majority of what happens after this book.
