Isla and the Happily Ever After
by Stephanie Perkins
While this love story was absolutely adorable, as is everything that Stephanie Perkins writes, I felt like one of the most important parts of a Perkins romance was missing: the long, bittersweet buildup that makes the relationship a MILLION times better when it finally happens. I didn't feel like there was any foundation for Isla and Josh's relationship, and I couldn't really tell what it was about her that he loved. Even so, I smiled and laughed and almost cried at all the right places because Perkins is just that good.
