I enjoyed the first book in this series, but this one seemed super random with creepy little zombie children, weird time travel arcs that are not explained, visions that come from no where, STONES that come from NO WHERE (what is this, HP and the Philosopher's Stone??).

I love what this novel stands for: justice for all, history repeating itself, strong female characters, characters who are weak but courageous, defying the institution, etc. But there are too many loose ends, too many elements that didn't make sense. Nothing felt real to me, it seemed like random assortment of ingredients and no cohesion to hold it together.
