myntop 's review for:
The Julian Chapter
by R.J. Palacio
The way Julian (and his mother) acted in Wonder was not ok. I doubt there was anyone who read the book and didn't feel a bit of anger at those two characters. So, I was a little worried about what we were getting into with a chapter from Julian's POV.
I was pleasantly surprised. Through an e-mail from a beloved teacher and a heart-wrenching story from his grandmother, Julian (and eventually his mother) learn from their mistakes and decide to move on in kindness.
A lovely story to show that even though we make mistakes sometimes, we do not have to let those mistakes define us.
