Follow Me to Ground by Sue Rainsford
4.0

Follow Me to Ground is the surreal story of Ada and her father. Ada was born from the ground and her father turns into a ravenous four legged beast at night hunting around the woods. Two beings who are not human and are capable of removing disease from “Cures” (humans). They are able to reach in, remove the sickness and disease and then put the people into a wet patch of ground to heal. The sicknesses do not disappear, they simply go somewhere else.

Ada falls for a handsome Human Sampson who her father does not approve. This is where we cue the weird and I spend the rest of the Book uncomfortable, a bit confused and yet totally enthralled in the beauty of the story. Unique, interesting, and horrifying, with a cast of odd and colorful characters. A magic system that is interesting and a bit terrifying.
