Love You Again by Julia Kent
5.0

So I read and loved the prequel to this whole series, but haven’t read the first book. But since these are basically stand-alones connected by town and family characters, that wasn’t an issue to how much I ended up enjoying this one. While this wasn’t as much of a hilarious laugh every other minute story as some of the other books by this author that I love, it still had both romance and some good humor. For instance, a bridge that always gets trucks crashing because they don’t pay attention to the actual measurements of the bridge. We’ve got one of those in my town.

However in the story, the truck happens to be transporting a giraffe, lol. The humor of the moment with the truck though does get transformed into some drama and emotions for Luke. Now, I couldn’t quite picture the police uniforms for some reason. They were red or pink at times, because of the city’s theme. I think this would be such a fun city to visit, or even live in, if I could do a small town.

This book had the perfect mix of emotional situations, funny banter and situations, and romance to make it all come together. There were parts when I was telling her not to do what she was going to do, even though I knew she had to, and knew it was part of the story. And then there was the part towards the end I was so mad at Luke! But the story all came together perfectly in the end. I love the whole town, all the little stories we got about different people and stores as the story proceeded. I can’t wait for the rest of the family’s stories, as well as I need to find time to go back and fit in the copy of the first book I already have sitting on my shelf!
