The translation was interesting but the story a little dry. The Ballad of Mulan is probably the driest out of all the tales of Mulan. I loved the illustrations of the book and how one could see the depth of Chinese culture jumping out.

Also, I cannot stress this enough the Mulan Disney movie is very far from any of the ancient Mulan stories, in terms of what the 'morals' are being portrayed.
