The Gilded Wolves follows Séverin, Laila, Enrique and Zofia as they are roped into performing a heist to save each other and hunt down an ancient artifact the Order is after. They are later joined by Hypnos who joins them in their mission. The novel is told in third person, but does follow all their POVs.

This book was funny than I expected. The dialogue between characters had me actually laughing out loud at times. I enjoyed how the characters had relationship with each other already, it wasn't a group of strangers meeting each other and becoming a group. All the characters are so different and diverse and there are no issues telling them apart.

I really enjoyed how this is historical fiction, but also has magical realism/fantasy elements mixed in. The world building was great and Roshani's writing style was beautiful. That ending!!! Can't wait for the next one.
