Borderline
by Mishell Baker
At first I was kind of bored while intrigued with this book but it totally hit it's stride and I just stayed up till one am to finish it so, yes. This is another Nebula nominee, and when I saw it on the list I was pleased to discover I'd already received a free copy of from a convention I attended earlier this year. This is a very character driven story, and all the characters were great - from the sharp, intelligent protagonist, to the diverse cast of Arcadia Project, even the menacing Unseelie warlock antagonist was an exciting badass. I don't know much about Borderline Personality Disorder, so I can't say if any of the depictions were accurate, but I was impressed by how big of a part of the protagonist's story her mental health was, and how she consistently narrated about how it impacted her life. This is the best kind of start to a series, where the story is completely wrapped up and there aren't any huge nagging questions, but I so loved the characters that I'm excited there will be more books returning to their story.
