Holy fucking shit...

So the first half of this is a lot of building up to the new status quo. A lot of learning about "The Culling" and how our heroes will survive what is coming. And it was good but it left me kind of wondering where we're going from here. And then in comes Maki. We finally learn her full past and also more about her Sister and oh my god...it is brutal past but what comes next? One of the best moments in Shonen I've read in forever.

Talk about a holy shit explosion of 3 chapters at the end. I always liked Maki but she was somewhere in the lower 10 or maybe 15 for characters. After this she is easily top 5 characters. She does NOT fuck around as we see what she is truly capable of. On top of the strong storytelling Gege gives us some of his best fight scenes yet. When this shit is animated the internet is going to lose their minds.

This arc went from good to HOLY SHIT in just a few chapters. In the words of Maki after being told doesn't she have a heart she goes "Not anymore. You took that from me." Here we are folks. Maki ain't fucking around.
