I’m sorry. I really am. But I think Ware only had one good story in her. WIC10 was so good. But every other book she’s written is predictable as all hell. This book in particular. Not only is it INCREDIBLY obvious what is going to happen from very early on in the book, but Hal is so unbearably stupid and blind that it makes it impossible to care about what happens to her. There is nothing creative or interesting about this novel. Ware seems to only be able to turn out a very specific set of plots and villains. At this point I will likely not be picking up anything else she’s written. IADDW I blamed being bad on first novel problems. TLG I thought was maybe just not for me. But now I’m sure that Ware has an unearned spot in the hearts of thrill fans.
