Honestly I was mostly bored reading this. I was waiting and waiting for it to grab me and there were select scenes and lines that did but not much outside of that.
I couldn’t really connect to any of the characters and spent too much time grimacing. This book reminded me a lot of No Longer Human, although I think this book embraces the idea of not being ‘normal’ and is a bit more hopeful toward the end.
Part of me wishes this book was a little shorter (some of the passages repeated too much and would have been more impactful if cut down).
