His Majesty's Hope is darker than the first two in the series. We see first hand some of the Nazi atrocities happening to Jewish people and to children with disabilities. It was heart-wrenching in many cases. And I was on the edge of my seat in many places of the book as Maggie found herself in some very harrowing situations!!
