Yes, Daddy
by Jonathan Parks-Ramage
Oh man, this book is raw and painful. Jonah is a man with a haunting past and has a horrible relationship with his parents. He moves to New York to become a writer but gets stuck with a job as a waiter that doesn't quite pay the bills. Jonah seeks the attention of a famous playwright, Richard, and soon the two begin dating. Jonah ignores all of Richard's red flags and after a couple of months, Richard invites Jonah to spend the summer at his mansion in the Hamptons. Soon what was supposed to be a delightful break from the real world turns into the worse time of Jonah's life. Jonah has been through so much... misguided, abused, and traumatized. His moral compass was obstructed due to PTSD. There were so many hard triggers and the story seemed extremely real.
