Catching Fire
by Suzanne Collins
After rereading Catching Fire, I realized why I put it down in the first place. Even though I enjoyed the side characters, I felt like the book was very slow. The Hunger Games were boring uninteresting. It felt like a job to read through such an uneventful book. The only time something happened was at the very end, which isn't enough for me to enjoy a book.
I felt that Katniss was completely clueless throughout the whole book. I understand that she goes through a lot, but sometimes I just wanted to grab her and shake her. I understand that Collins didn't want her catching onto things too quickly, but she just remained completely clueless throughout the book.
Though I didn't enjoy this book as much, and I understand why I put it down int he first place, it will not stop me from reading the series this time. Rereading this book did give me a new love for the side characters though. I just feel bad that I feel the side characters are well developed while compared to the main character, when it is usually the opposite.
We will see if my opinion of this series changes completely after reading the 3rd book, which will be my first time reading.
