The Alice Network by Kate Quinn
4.0

A riveting book full of twists and turns. The book is written through two points of view -- that of Eve Gardiner and that of Charlie St. Clair. The basic plot for Charlie's story is that she is looking for her cousin in France post-World War II. Eve's side of the story is that she is seeking revenge on a man who did her dirty during World War I. It was an amazing way to tie in the two world wars, as well as a powerful show of women solidarity for one another.
I found myself heavily rooting for Eve despite her not really being likable. She is rude, abrasive, and rather...well, unlikable. However, her story was fascinating and I found myself waiting on the edge of my seat for her POV to come back on. Her story was just very interesting, and I could not wait to get to the end of it.
Charlie's story was a bit...obnoxious, I will admit, hence me taking off a star. She was a sort of whiny character. I did value the way she was written as she was very strong, empowering, and was forced to make difficult decisions throughout the book for both herself and the people around her. Character development was heavy throughout the book for Charlie, as she went from a spoiled child to a strong young woman.
Overall, I did thoroughly enjoy this book and would highly recommend, especially for people who enjoy reading historical fiction with some modern elements tossed in.
