The Memory of Light
by Francisco X. Stork
This is a raw look into the world of mental health, depression and suicide.
Most books that delve into this topic give a reason as to why the character commits suicide or is depressed. In this story, Vicky is depressed and she doesn’t know why. Depression doesn’t need a reason, a fact the author captures beautifully. All of the character development was amazing.
I also really loved how even though it was a contemporary, there was no romance. The story solely focuses on depression.
I have been trying to put a review together for this book since I finished it, and finally had to admit anything I write will never do it justice. Do yourself a favor and go read this.
