This book is a crossover book between the Vampire Chronicles and the Mayfair Witches. I'm not a big fan of the Mayfair series, so I was a little concerned about this book. Lestat is being haunted by the spirit of someone he wronged, and seeks help from Merrick Mayfair to stop the haunting. Merrick did some work with David in the Talamasca, and this enabled her to get the diary of the spirit that is haunting Lestat. Lestat is able to contact the spirit, which causes both Louis and Lestat to despair. Merrick wishes to be turned into a vampire as well, which is a whole other issue in this book. For a crossover book, this was quite enjoyable. I am seven books into this series at this point, and I have nothing negative to say about it, really.
