I really wanted to like this one, but the structure of the plot just didn't work for me. The constant jumping around was confusing at times and I'm really not satisfied with how everything connected. The 'plot twists' were really weak and confusing, making for an unsatisfying ending. I'm not sure if there are any further books planned in the series but I hope there are because without them the whole story is useless, this whole book felt like setup for things to come, which in my opinion makes a story weak.

I enjoyed some of the philosophical discussions but I can understand if others were put off by constant self-reflection/introspection with no purpose. The story definitely had a problem with telling and not showing and there are many instances in which characters are sitting down and explaining things that could've been 'shown'.

I loved the premise and I wanted to love this book, and to its credit it did keep my attention, but it wasn't as impactful as it could've been and I think it has many flaws.
