I loved this book a wonderfully written and complex story and characters that I enjoyed reading about. The characters were all really interesting I loved Kadou and Evemer I loved the slow burn romance between them it starts from one just tolerating the other to a wonderful and deep romance that I just loved reading about. I also loved the character surrounding the two of them starting with Tadek and Kadou's sister and every other character other than that. The story was really complex and compelling it starts with Kadou not getting along with his sister's lover and the later always antagonizing the later. An incident happened and his guard was demoted and he got a new guard that doesn't really like him the story moves along thing are found out the day is saved and a love for the ages happens there is a wonderfully happy ending too.
