As the Tallgrass Grows
by Rachel Ember
Compelling read about messy family dynamics.
This is a new to me author and I throughly enjoyed every moment of this well crafted book.
The main characters are strongly developed, complex and compelling. The side characters are interesting and those connected to the family are superbly intertwined with the complicated family dynamics whilst the plot is engaging and flows along seamlessly.
Johnny and Owen certainly have chemistry between them and as much as they try to ignore it, it’s impossible to do so. Their romance is slow burnish as they try to deny the attraction between them but once it’s acknowledged sparks do fly! Insecurities are acknowledged and a few minor hiccups are hurdled before Johnny and Owen achieve their well deserved HEA and some of the family threads are neatly connected by the end. Although a thread is definitely left to be explored in the next book.
