Twilight at Moorington Cross
by Abigail Wilson
mysterious
slow-paced
I admit... When I read Regency, it's usually a romance. Now this has that but it's more a mystery book.
Amelia has been a resident of a Mesmeric Hospital for several years due to "sleeping spells" when she is taken by surprise as her doctor makes her inheritor in his will. She must marry one of 2 men to interior and he's picked them out. Then the doctor dies.
The mystery of his death is taken upon to solve by Amelia and the doctor's solicitor Mr. Hawkins. I quite enjoyed the way this played out as mystery upon mystery is discovered and needs to be in uncovered. I like Angela. She has a strong head on her shoulders and she's level headed too. She knows how to judge a man's character very well.
