Sigh. I knew they were going to redeem Hugh, but I had no idea they were going to do it so perfectly. The best part is, Hugh is still a bastard, but he is now a bastard with a cause that readers can readily support.

Once again team Ilona Andrews dug into a soul of a character and showed us that people are more than the horrendous things they do. And while forgiving may not happen, understanding comes.

Also they killed it in terms of the interactions and the relationships, even working a physically challenged hero seamlessly into the plot line.

Loved this one, it is intricate, redeeming, and sassy! Read at your own risk of falling for the once unforgivable Hugh.

Yeah and the castle people...heh! Your mind will be blown!
