A Perilous Plan
by Melanie Dickerson
TW: Abuse, Kidnapping
When I say I had high expectations for this book, I mean very high. I have read ever single one of Melanie Dickerson's other books (except for Magnolia Summer) and I have loved each book so much. I am so happy that A Perilous Plan met or exceeded my expectations in every area.
The romance was so incredibly wholesome that it had me squealing at times. Penelope and Henry are so perfect together! I really loved how their relationship wasn't sped up or drawn out unnecessarily. I also loved how Henry wasn't super controlling and refused to take credit for Penelope's escape. While there are some cliches in this book, I think that they are done wonderfully! Penelope has just emerged from an abusive marriage, of course she is going to have doubts about her worth.
Overall, Dickerson once again blew me away with her stunning tale of love, history, and intrigue and I can't wait until A Treacherous Treasure comes out!
Lots of love!
