I wish I had enjoyed this book a whole lot more. I wanted to, it seemed like a really cool idea. But the writing isn't super solid and the plot is pretty cookie cutter with a blending of most YA fantasy tropes into one book. The characters were pretty good and the world building wasn't the worst thing I've seen in awhile but it also wasn't amazing. I think overall the word I would use is forgettable? Not bad enough to loath, not good enough to read the rest of the series.
