The Hunting Party by Lucy Foley
3.0

This book is centred around a group of friends, now adults, who met while at University. Their annual New Years Eve get-together.
The group is fragile, hanging on by a thread and all of them have plenty of skeletons in the closet.

It opens with a murder and the rest of the book flicks between them arriving at the lodge and 3 days later which plays out the discovery of the body and subsequent events. I found the beginning to be quite confusing with how many characters there were, I actually had to make some notes just to keep track but after a while, I got to grips with it.

Unfortunately, I did guess the ending about 30% in so the rest of the book, I was waiting for it to play out and hoped that I would be wrong.

Overall, it wasn’t a bad book, just not for me! I like to be kept guessing right until the end and then be really shocked when everything unravels.
