Hyeon is an illegitimate daughter of a prominent lord and Eojin is a young inspector searching for a killer. Their paths cross when Hyeon's mentor is accused of the murders occurring in the palace. Hyeon begins her own investigation and often aids Eojin in searching for who the culprit is.

This book felt very much like a historical k-drama and I loved that aspect!! Both characters are determined to find the culprit for their own reasons and I loved the interactions between the two! It's a very subtle slow-burn romance, so just know even though it may have a little romance it's mainly about solving the mystery of the murders!

I'd recommend this to people who enjoy historical fiction, k-dramas, mysteries, crime, court intrigue, secrets and rumors, and subtle slow burns!!
