Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
by J.K. Rowling
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is my favorite out of all the books in the series. A few people say that this book is their least favorite of the series because it is slow in the beginning. I found this book quite the opposite and loved the beginning because it gave more insight on the friendship between a parental figure and the main character. I also have a taste for longer books and it is the longest book at the high end of 800 pages. This novel is certainly violent and a major character dies. I will say that the death made me sad, so beware. The characters have developed into wonderful people that will go to any lengths to help their friends, even if it means risking their own lives. The students are rebelling against the ministry and the horrific new teacher. There is some kissing and love in this novel, but nothing really inappropriate. The vocabulary is still high for some kids and they may find this book hard to read. Rowling adds great new bumps in the road for the famous trio that put you on the edge of your seat. Overall this book is wonderful and I recommend it highly.
