The River at Night by Erica Ferencik
3.0

Where to begin ....
I enjoyed the storyline for this book, the idea of being lost in the woods only to be found by two feral humans is terrifying. And the storyline is what earns it the 3 star rating.
I did not like the characters at all. And maybe it's because I've read so many books like this that I couldn't believe they were doing half the things they were doing. They just acted dumb and it really bothered me. And their personalities were awful. Especially Pia. If I ever met that woman I'd smack her so hard her head would spin. I loathed her character from the beginning.
I also didn't like how the book was told like it was being told to someone, not like it was happening as you're reading it.... what's the point of a thriller if you know one of the main characters was going to live? It took away from the story for me. And maybe people won't pick up on that and I just spoiled it ... the author didn't make it sound like a past event the whole story but she used past tense verbs randomly that annoyed me.
I don't know, over all it was just okay, nothing special. It could have been a lot better.
