Romancing the Silver Fox
by Khloe Summers
Her gaze catches mine again and for a second, I’d wager to say we were both feeling the same thing: a warmth that’s indescribable, a fluttering in our stomachs, a tingling pleasure that’s nearly aching. - Atlas Meyer
First of all the description does not match what actually goes down. Not a bad thing but was a bit misleading. This is book 2 of 6 in a Galenatine's Getaway about 6 romance authors who find love during a writing retreat in Lake Tahoe.
With that said, this is a pretty short story, and I was annoyed that the dinner scene was 99% the same as the previous story. I get that it's giving us each woman's perspective but as a loyal series reader, this annoyed me and would only benefit savages who just jump into a series randomly reading things out of order or gasp... as a standalone.
So, our girl Clover has hit writer's block and his weighed down with deadlines. Sexy silver fox Atlas offers to help with research and relaxation to clear said block, despite being in the middle of his own personal crisis.
I love how these two come together and help each other find happiness and clarity so they can focus on their passions. What I didn't like was the unnecessary slut shaming. I was furious and felt like it had no place and added no value to the story.
This is a quick, instalove, spicy love story. The age gap presents a small hurdle, but I am happy that it wasn't a main focus or barrier for these two. I appreciated Atlas's background story. I felt like he had a lot of depth.
I was very happy with these two and their HEA.
