I wasn't sure what to expect with this book, because JP and Kelsey's story (the second book) was really underwhelming. We really didn't know much about Breaker from the other two books in this series, so that mystery was quite appealing and led me to have excitement for his story. I absolutely loved Breaker and Lia's story. It was so fun to see them in the prologue and how they first met, striking up a friendship over nerdy things, and then continuing that deep connection over their likes into their present relationship. You could absolutely tell just how meant for each other they really were, and how the people they tried to date (instead of each other) were just never going to measure up, and were never going to take the place of the unbreakable bond they had. This is such a great take on the friends to lovers trope, because Breaker had truly convinced himself that he and Lia were "just friends"... until he was on the verge of losing her to another man. It was heartwarming to read *that* scene where he finally SEES her and realizes what everyone else has been telling him all along: that he is in love with his best friend. However, I loved how he never, ever got in the way of Lia's relationship and how much he supported her and loved her through it, even when he disagreed or didn't like things. He is the true definition of a loyal best friend and the way he stood up for her made my heart swell. Their journey from friendship to a blossoming, new relationship to actually falling in love and getting a happily ever after was such a beautiful one. I loved seeing all of the characters from the previous books come together and it was like coming home to family once again.
